Rooted in Purpose: Walking Boldly Into God’s Plan
Share
We’ve talked about being rooted in faith, hope, and identity. But what’s the next step? Purpose.
Too many people drift through life feeling like they’re existing but not truly living. Maybe you’ve asked: Why am I here? Does my story even matter? The answer is yes—your life was designed with intention, and God has placed purpose inside of you from the very beginning.
Your family may have shaped your story. Your past may have left some scars. But none of that disqualifies you. In fact, it often becomes the very soil where your purpose grows. God has a way of taking what was meant to break you and using it to build you—and to help others.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10
Walking in purpose doesn’t mean you’ll have all the answers. It means you’ll take one obedient step at a time, trusting that God is guiding you. It means allowing Him to use your gifts, your voice, and even your pain to shine His light.
God has a remarkable way of turning your mess into a message of restoration and hope — one that can touch the lives of others. The very experiences that have shaped you, though painful or confusing, are tools in His hands. Nothing in your story is wasted. His Word assures us that “all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28) That means all things — even the moments that felt like they were working against you — are actually working to shape your destiny for good. As Jeremiah 29:11 declares, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.” His intention for you has always been grace and glory — a life that reflects His goodness even through what once seemed broken.
Time to take action
This week:
-
Reflect on one hardship from your past. How could God use it to encourage someone else?
-
Identify one gift or skill you’ve been holding back. How can you use it this week to serve?
-
Pray: “Lord, reveal to me the purpose You’ve placed inside of me and give me boldness to walk it out.”
-
Take one small step—send that encouraging text, share your testimony, volunteer, start the project—whatever God is nudging you to do.
Friend, you are not an accident. You were made on purpose, with purpose. As you stay rooted in Him, your life becomes a testimony of His grace and power—pointing others to the One who authored it all.
