When Family Feels Like the Battlefield Instead of the Blessing
Share
We all step into life carrying an unspoken dream: that family will be our safest place—a shelter of love, belonging, and unconditional support. But for many, that dream feels shattered.
What happens when the people who were supposed to protect and nurture you are the very ones who caused the deepest wounds?
For years, I thought my family’s way of living was just “normal”—at least normal for me.
A mother stretched thin and weary.
A father emotionally absent.
Relatives who meant well but didn’t know how to show it.
I didn’t have the language for it then, but I was living in dysfunction. And I believed that was simply how families were.
It took years—and a lot of healing—for me to see the truth: God never designed family to be a source of pain. But even in the brokenness, He was working out a plan.
In Perfectly Placed, I share how God wove purpose through my own story of family pain, confusion, and unmet expectations. None of it was wasted—and none of yours will be wasted either.
If you’ve ever found yourself asking:
Why this family? Why this struggle? Why this kind of hurt?
Here’s the truth: The family you were born into wasn’t a mistake. God saw your life—beginning to end—and placed you exactly where you needed to be to become the person who could walk out His purpose.
If you’ve questioned whether your story matters or whether healing is even possible, I want you to know—it is. And your story matters deeply to God.
